Where am I now?
Today I'm 60 years old!
Where did the time go?
I can collect my bus pass and get cheap tickets at the cinema.
I can't afford to retire yet, so I'll keep plodding along earning my keep and saving towards that target.
Current interests
I still listen to music most days. I don't buy much new stuff.
I DO NOT use any online streaming services. All my listening is via CD or Vinyl or the Radio. I have quite a few of my CDs ripped to MP3 and stored on my phone too, for listening in the van (why don't modern vehicles have CD players any more?)
I keep my diary daily. I read occasionally. I play chess most days and I walk the dog as often as work allows.
I tinker with programmable RPN calculators and surf the web reading and learning about them.
I bought a treble recorder last year and failed to start learning it. Perhaps that can be my project for my becoming 60 year?
No Buy 2025/26
I'm on a NO BUY mission - we're saving all our spare money to build an art studio for Kate, my wonderful artist wife. I've done smaller no buys over the last few years to try and break my bad spending habits, but this one has stuck - and I'm motivated by 2 things
- Stop buying stuff that I don't really need
- Save money for Kate's studio
I have enough stuff already and 1 was the initial motivator, but number 2 is now the major focus of the effort as we try to fulfill a lifetime dream for Kate.
