Radio Clubs

I've been a member of the G-QRP Club on and off since the early 1980s. I let my membership lapse for several years, during the early years of working, while I wasn't active in the hobby. I rejoined after I came back into the hobby in the early 2000s. It took some digging to find my original membership number. I eventually found it (2377) on a QSL card I'd received via the G-QRP-Club QSL bureau, and I was re-issued my old number. Now, more than 20 years after re-joining I'm still a member.

I love small-format, real paper club magazines - SPRAT, FISTS etc. - and I'm glad they still publish these in physical form. It's always a pleasure to come across an old copy hidden in a box, cupboard, drawer etc. You never have these little moments of serendipity with electronic format magazines.

I renewed my G-QRP-Club membership for 2026 a few weeks ago, when I realized I'd (once again) let it slip.

I've also renewed my subscription to the QRP-ARCI magazine “QRP Quarterly” and my membership of the FISTS Club. Both organizations still provide paper magazines.
